Edward "Eddie" Hasten passed away on October 29, 2025, in Terre Haute, Indiana. Eddie was born to Mark and Anna Ruth Hasten in Minneapolis, Minnesota on October 14, 1953.
After graduating from Yeshiva MTA in New York City for high school, he graduated from Indiana University's School of Business followed by Northwestern University, where he received his MBA. Eddie was very philanthropic, giving generously to the Hasten Hebrew Academy and funding Yeshiva "Chochmat Shlomo" in Eilat, Israel. He was active in Congregation B'nai Torah, and had served as the congregation's treasurer.
His passions took him around the globe. He was a master scuba diver, and his diving took him from the Sinai desert to Thailand, Africa and more.
He is survived by his beloved children, Samuel Hasten of Jerusalem, Israel, Amanda (Jared) Goldwasser of Los Angeles, California, and Bianca Hasten of Los Angeles, California; his siblings, Rabbi Michael (Shulamit) Hasten and Monica (Dr. Stephen) Rosenfeld; 7 grandchildren, Yoshi, Batsheva, Yishaiah, Shalva, Avishai, of Israel, and Sari and Mina of Los Angeles; and his former wife, Dora Hasten.
He will be remembered for his larger than life personality, expert whistling, quirky sense of humor, and great big heart.
Funeral services will be on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 9:00 am, at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Funeral Home, 11411 N. Michigan Road, Zionsville, Indiana. Livestreaming is available. Burial will follow in B'nai Torah Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hasten Hebrew Academy of Indianapolis.
