Dolores (Nowak) Sidor

Dolores Sidor (nee Nowak), age 90, from East Chicago, IN passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024 in Indianapolis, IN. Beloved wife of the late Ted V. Sidor, she is survived by their five children: Neal Sidor of Miller Beach, IN; Brian Sidor (Tina) of Indianapolis, IN; Maria Jackson (Eric) of Indianapolis, IN; Ruth Grugel (Christopher) of Kenosha, WI; and Scott Sidor (Daun) of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren: Vanessa Sidor of East Chicago, IN; Nicole McKenzie (Winston) of Sun City Center, FL; Jennifer Vargas of Miller Beach, IN; Londyn Sidor of Miller Beach, IN; Kyle Current (Kelsey) of Evansville, IN; Kambria Current of Franklin, IN; McKenzi Moorman (Tony) of Avon, IN; Briley Sidor of Dayton, OH; Alexandria Jackson of Philadelphia, PA; Olivia Jackson of Philadelphia, PA; Joe Jackson of Indianapolis, IN; Annie Sidor of Indianapolis, IN; great-grandchildren: Vincent, Angelina, Adrian, Chase, Jayden, Lillian, Max, Miranda, Mason, and Levi; sister, Barbara Braun of Lowell, IN. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, Ann and Joseph Nowak; and siblings, Louis Novak, Sr., Bernice Lomax, Edward Novak, Robert Nowak, Cecelia Guziar, and Therese Maliziola.

Dolores was born and raised in East Chicago, IN and was a graduate of Bishop Noll High School. She was a near-lifelong resident of East Chicago and parishioner of St. Mary Parish in East Chicago, moving to Indianapolis in 2004, where she joined St. Christopher Parish. She was an avid reader and enjoyed stints as a librarian, first at St. Mary School in East Chicago and later at the East Chicago Public Library. She was delighted by, and loved to spend time with, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. (EST), Saturday, February 10, 2024 at St. Christopher Catholic Church, 5301 W 16th St, Indianapolis, IN 46224. Private graveside service.
