Dianne B. McBride

Aug 1, 1943 — Nov 3, 2023

Dianne B. McBride was born August 1, 1943 in Camden, New Jersey. Dianne grew up in New Jersey as an only child, spending a lot of time on Long Beach Island with her parents. Dianne made lifelong friends during her high school years. After high school, Dianne went to Rutgers where she met her future husband, Bill. They met in the Rutgers library and Bill asked her if he could carry her books for her. Bill and Dianne were married on July 14, 1962. From this point, they began a journey that would last 64 years as they grew their family and moved from the east cost to the Midwest. Dianne and Bill finally settled in Indianapolis in 1971, where Dianne raised and supported their four children.

Dianne was active in the community and advocated for groups like Planned Parenthood and Democrats of Indiana. Dianne loved to cook and her ability to put together an extensive and amazing holiday dinner for friends and family was legendary. She was always working on different crafts with her numerous friends through the years, and loved a good game of Scrabble. Dianne was a kind and generous woman who believed in equity and equal rights.

After the four children were out of the house or away in school, she became a sales rep for a giftware company. Her outgoing and generous nature fit perfectly with this career which she did for over 20 years. Many more relationships and friendships were built through this job. She and Bill encouraged their four children to go out into the world and do their best at what made them happy, always being supportive. Phone calls, visits and social media kept her connected to her children and grandchildren over the later portion of her rich life. She had a full and bountiful life and she will be missed.

Dianne died November 3, 2026 on Election day, and her spirit surely rejoiced at the results that day. She is survived by her husband, Bill; daughters, Vicki and Rebecca; sons, Richard and Andrew; and grandchildren, Cullen, Barzel, Auden, Lev, and Solomon.

Dianne will not have a funeral, but a small celebration of life is being planned by her family in the spring of 2027 when the daffodils and tulips that she so loved are blooming. Over the years, Dianne donated to many organizations she felt strongly about. The family requests that in lieu of cards or flowers to consider a donation in her name to either the American Cancer Society or Planned Parenthood.

All arrangements were made by Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary.
