David P. Ober

April 3, 1942 — December 2, 2025

David P. Ober born April 3, 1942, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2025 in Zionsville, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents, A. Forest Ober and May C. (Warstler) Ober. He is survived by his brother, Kent Ober and nieces and nephews, Kevin Ober, Mitchell Ober, Megan Ober, and Kelli Trowbridge.

After growing up in Goshen, IN, David earned a BA in accounting at Indiana University and started his career at the Indiana State Department of Revenue. Later, he received an MBA also at IU and moved to Indiana Bell where he became District Manager of Accounting, Taxes, and Corporate Books. He also worked for several years at AT&T headquarters in NYC.

After he retired, he took courses at Fuller Theological Seminary and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and became a volunteer mission mobilizer. He developed and led eight courses in Christian Leadership and was part of or led mission trips to Ethiopia, Honduras, Kenya, and Yucatan. He was the founder and president of the Great Commission Alliance and led the Indianapolis area Prespectives for Missions. He was the past chairman of the Zionsville Presbyterian Church Mission Commission. 

A Celebration of David's Life will be held at the Hoosier Village Chapel at 9875 Cherryleaf Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46268 on January 18 at 2 PM. David requested, "Don't shed many tears for me. I have had a great life and am going to an even better place". If you wish to place a remembrance, a contribution in David's name may be made to a mission organization of your choice.
