Darla Sue May

Darla Short May, a beloved wife, mother, friend and animal lover, passed away on July 2, 2026.  Darla was born on August 10, 1938, in Huntington, Indiana to the late, Howard and Kathlyn Short.  For over twenty years she worked at the Depot Clothing Store in Broad Ripple

Darla never met a stranger.  She loved to walk and chat with the people and animals she met along the way.  She made friends easily and was well-liked by all,

She was deeply involved in the Indianapolis Hosta Society, and a member of Second Presbyterian Church, she was a talented cook and homemaker.

Darla is survived by her daughter, Kathy May and her son, Craig (Terri Sites) May.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim and her daughter, Carol.
