Danilo “Dany” Lainez Euceda, 47, of Westfield, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, June 30, 2025, following a long battle with liver cirrhosis.
He was born on May 13, 1978, on the island of Amapala, Honduras, the son of Jose Lainez and Maria Euceda of San Lorenzo, Honduras.
Danilo was a 1996 graduate of Rafael de las Mataras High School. After graduation, he moved to San Pedro Sula, where he worked as a salesman. There, he met and married Lesly Mariona in 1999. Together they had two sons: Danilo Lainez Mariona, a 2022 IUPUI graduate, and Daniel Lainez Mariona, a 2022 graduate of Westfield High School.
After separating from Lesly Mariona, Danilo continued his successful career in sales, including work with a Johnnie Walker distributor. During this time, he met Elizabeth Gomez, with whom he had one son, Dylan Lainez Gomez, who is currently in middle school.
Danilo moved to the United States on October 30, 2016. Although language barriers prevented him from applying his extensive sales experience, he remained optimistic and hardworking. He found employment in manufacturing, where he was consistently recognized for his diligence, dedication, and positive attitude—until his health began to decline.
He is survived by his sons: Danilo Lainez Mariona, Daniel Lainez Mariona, and Dylan Lainez Gomez; and his siblings: Lourdes, Liliana, Marilu, Eduardo, Margarita, Omar, Jose Alberto, Yessenia, Juan José, and Yvonne Lainez Euceda, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Danilo’s final wish was for his ashes to be scattered in the ocean. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 12, at 2:00 p.m. at Mercy Road Church – Carmel, located at 2381 Pointe Parkway, Carmel, Indiana 46032.
