Dale was born to Freeman & Edna (Treadway) Manners on September 21, 1949. Dale loved life, family, and friends. He was a loyal and loving friend, husband, and father. He was a hard worker and enjoyed everything he did.
Dale was the owner, operator, and mechanic of three gas stations: two Mobil stations and one Marathon station. He was a talented hydraulic technician and service mechanic, serving at Altech and Industrial Hydraulics. Dale was a skilled motor engine and silo hydraulic mechanic and was always willing to share his knowledge with others. He spent many years teaching at Lincoln Tech where he led instruction in chassis and alignment.
Dale was also involved in his community as a member of the 32° Scottish Rite Freemasonry and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his uncle and aunt, Eddie and Nancy Treadway, who gave him a lifelong love of cars and having fun. Dale also enjoyed being active and outdoors doing activities such as dancing, boating, scuba diving, snow skiing, water skiing, swimming, exploring new places, and going on adventures. He was also the kind of person that enjoyed spending time around the fire pit with family and friends - having a weenie roast with a crown and coke in hand. He was an animal-lover, especially horses and dogs and enjoyed listening to Dolly Parton. His favorite times were spent in the company of his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Manners; three children and two stepchildren, Scott Manners, Angie (Stacy) Toole, Chris (Diana) Manners, Samantha (Andrew) Payne, and Gary (Brittanie) McQueen; nine grandchildren, Scottie, Jordan, Marah, Gavin, Nathan, Grant, Keith, Liliana, and Desmond; three great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Gryphon, and Brandon; four siblings, Carl Manners, Joyce Davis, Judy Wendel, and Donna Wendel; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles; as well as many great friends; and a lifelong friend, Kenny Minor.
He will be greatly missed and forever loved. The love and joy that he brought to those around him was an eternal gift from an amazing man. Dale's smile and joy will live on in the hearts he touched and through the echoes of his laughter.
Dale's quote: "Try to not let things get you down. Remember that no matter how bad things are, you will get through it a lot easier if you laugh through it all and work to stay happy."
