Dale was born to Freeman & Edna (Treadway) Manners on September 21, 1949. Dale loved life, family, and friends. He was a loyal and loving friend, husband, father, and grandfather. He was a hard worker and enjoyed everything he did.
Dale was the owner/operator, and head mechanic of three gas stations: two Mobil and one Marathon station. As well as the owner/operator of Manners Auto, Price Rite Auto, and Professional Auto car lots. He was a talented hydraulic technician and service mechanic, serving at Altec and Industrial Hydraulics. Dale was a highly skilled motor engine and silo hydraulic mechanic, and taught chassis and alignment at Lincoln Tech.
Dale was also involved in his community as a member of the 32° Scottish Rite Freemasonry and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
As a child, Dale played the cello at Lutheran school and he enjoyed spending time with his uncle and aunt, Eddie and Nancy Treadway, who gave him a lifelong love of cars and having fun. Dale also enjoyed being active and outdoors doing activities such as dancing, boating, scuba diving, snow skiing, water skiing, swimming, exploring new places, and going on adventures. He was also the kind of person that enjoyed spending time around the fire pit with family and friends - having a hot dog with a crown and coke. He was an animal-lover, especially dogs and horses, and enjoyed listening to and looking at Dolly Parton. His favorite times were spent in the company of his family and friends who he loved and respected beyond measure. Dale was a loving husband and father, his pride and joy was his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, sharing twenty-two happy years together; three children and two stepchildren, Scott, Chris, Angie, Samantha, Gary and their spouses; nine grandchildren, Scottie, Marah, Jordan, Gavin, Nathan, Grant, Keith, Lilianna, and Desmond; three great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Gryphon, and Brandon; four siblings, Carl, Joyce, Judy, and Donna; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles; as well as many great friends; and a lifelong friend, Kenny Minor.
Dale died peacefully in his sleep after a fifteen-year battle with COPD. He will be greatly missed and forever loved. The love and joy that he brought to those around him was an eternal gift from an amazing man. Dale's smile and joy will live on in the hearts he touched and through the echoes of his laughter.
Dale's quote: "Try to not let things get you down. Remember that no matter how bad things are, you will get through it a lot easier if you laugh through it all and work to stay happy."
