Christopher Alan Teclaw, 31, born on January 31, 1994, in Baraboo, Wisconsin, passed away suddenly on January 15, 2026, in Noblesville, Indiana. He was a beloved son, brother, and friend, whose life touched many during his brief but impactful years. Though he was born in another state, he felt that Fishers, IN area was his home.
Chris began his working life in restaurant work and retail sales management, demonstrating an early commitment to service and community. His journey led him to discover a passion for finance, where he found his calling at Fifth Third Bank before making a significant step to Regions Bank in 2025. He was actively working toward his ultimate goal to become a Certified Financial Planner. Chris took pride in helping others, further solidifying his dedication to serving those around him.
Though Chris was only a few credits shy of graduating from the University of Indiana, his achievements in life extended far beyond any degree. While pursuing his Political Science degree, he was selected to participate in Model UN twice, served as a Senate intern in Washington, DC, and later interned at the Indiana House of Representatives. No matter your political affiliation, respectful debate and discussion were always welcome and encouraged. His enthusiasm for learning and his desire to assist others epitomized the essence of who he was.
Spending time with family and friends was paramount to Christopher. Holidays, birthdays and life milestones (large and small) were to be celebrated to the fullest. He would honor any get together by always being sharply dressed. He had a love of travel and was happiest when he had a trip planned, whether by car, plane or train. He also had a quick wit, with a “Dad joke” almost always at the ready to bring a smile to your face.
Chris leaves behind his loving family, including his mother, Lisa Thayer, and father, Mark Teclaw. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Teclaw, whose bond with Chris was ever-strong. Chris shared a deep and lasting bond with his stepbrothers, Ryan Sylvester and Zayne Lebray, brothers in every sense of the word, having grown up together for the past 18 years and shared laughter, adventures, and countless memories. He was also deeply loved by his stepmother, Tracy Teclaw, who cherished him and will hold him in her heart always. Others closest to him and most important to him were his paternal grandfather, Richard “Papa” Teclaw, and his aunts, uncles, and cousins. Among his cherished friends are Erika, Matt, and Ellie, who stood by him through thick and thin and shared in the joys and challenges of life. He is also survived by his beloved corgi and soul dog, Darwin.
Christopher Alan Teclaw will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His vibrant personality and legacy of kindness, service, and unwavering support for others will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
Per his wishes, there will not be a funeral service but a celebration of life open house filled with shared memories, love, and laughter. Date is set for 2/21/26. Location and exact time are being finalized.
