Barbara Jean Dunn, a remarkable soul, born September 1, 1937, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Barbara's journey in life was not only marked by her passion for starting several craft enterprises but also by the deep love she had for her family and friends. She was involved in Eastern Star, Job's Daughters, Tri Kappa, Homemaker Clubs in Hazelwood and Plainfield, and Hazelwood Christian Church. Barbara was an avid sports fan!
Barbara embraced the challenges and triumphs of life with unwavering determination and an inspiring spirit. Her career spanned a variety of ventures, from bus driver to real estate broker to craft entrepreneur. Yet, it was her love for family that defined her life's greatest achievements.
She was the cherished mother to Jeff (Sanille) Dunn, Kathy (David) Gaston, and Jenni (Brian) Henry. With each of her children, Barbara fostered unique bonds built on love and laughter, always cheering them on as they pursued their dreams. As a grandmother, she delighted in the company of her eight grandchildren, and her heart overflowed with joy at the arrival of her seven great-grandchildren. The warmth and wisdom she shared with them will echo through generations, encapsulating the love of a matriarch who adored her family above all else.
Barbara was predeceased by her beloved husband, Wilbur Dunn, whose memory remains cherished by all who knew them as a couple. Her parents, Stanford and Opal Berniece O'Haver, also held a special place in her heart, and Barbara carried their love and guidance with her throughout her life.
