Barbara Ann Blackwelder

88, of Plainfield, passed away on December 4, 2020. She was born in Warsaw, Georgia on September 7, 1932 to the late Charles Thorpe and Irene Eldridge. Barbara was a graduate of the St. Francis Xavier School of Nursing in Charleston, South Carolina and worked as a registered nurse in the Mental Health Department of the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia until her retirement in 2004.

Barbara loved reading mystery novels, crafting, spending time with her family and friends and spending time at the beach.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Horace “Bill” Blackwelder Jr. and Mark (Rebecca) Blackwelder; grandchildren, Gracen Ann Blackwelder, and Mark Jon Blackwelder Jr.

A private family interment will take place at the Plainfield United Methodist Church at a later date.
