Ansuya Mandalia

Ansuya Naginroy Mandalia, known affectionately as “Anu” and “Anuben,” passed away on September 1, 2026. Born in Vanthali, India, in 1952 to the late Shri Gokaldas and Shrimati Shantaben Jethva, she was the eldest of five children and a devoted maternal figure to her younger sisters. After completing her education in Vanthali, she married the late Dr. Naginroy Mandalia in 1973. Ansuya resided briefly in Aurangabad before moving to Bahrain in 1975, where she lived for several decades. Following her husband's passing in 2006, she moved to Mumbai in 2009, and later relocated to the United States in 2025.

Ansuya found joy in the simple pleasures of everyday life. She was fond of cooking, sewing, and watching television, and she especially enjoyed traveling and spending time outdoors, surrounded by the beauty and tranquility of nature. In her younger years, she also loved listening to the radio. Above all, one of the greatest joys of her life was being surrounded by friends and family, both immediate and extended. Family gatherings and time spent with loved ones held a special place in her heart, and she cherished the connections she shared with those around her.

A woman of few words, Ansuya had a gentle and pleasant personality that left a lasting impression on those who knew her. She carried herself with quiet strength and grace, and throughout her life, she demonstrated remarkable resilience in the face of difficult trials. She rarely complained and faced life's challenges with patience and fortitude. In her final years, she took particular pleasure in spending time with her granddaughter, whose company brought her great happiness. She also enjoyed sharing her recipes with her daughter, daughter-in-law, and friends, passing along not only her love of cooking but also a part of herself and the traditions she had treasured throughout her life. These simple acts of sharing, caring, and spending time with the people she loved reflected the warmth and generosity that defined her life.

Ansuya is survived by her children, Dharmesh and Pooja, daughter-in-law Kanan, son-in-law Deept, and granddaughter, Anaya. She is further remembered by her siblings, Rajubhai, Jaysukhbhai, Kapilaben, and Rajshriben; her brother-in-law, Jayantbhai; her sisters-in-law, Nirmalaben, Prabhaben, Neetaben, Sangeetaben, and Padmaben; and a wide circle of extended family in India.

Services will be held at A.R.N. Funeral & Cremation Services at 11411 N. Michigan Rd., on Friday, September 2, 2026 from 4 – 6 PM.
