Anne Mack Barrett

Anne Barrett passed away on August 28, 2020 in Indianapolis at the age of 72. Anne was born to Harry W. and Jane M. Palmer (both deceased) in Sandusky, OH on February 3, 1948. She grew up in Indianapolis where the family moved when she was three.

Anne went to North Central High School and Indiana State University.  She worked at Methodist and Riley Hospitals for 40 years in telemetry and cardiovascular testing where she gained many close friendships.  Anne had lots of friends and was never one to miss a gathering or party.  She frequently organized long weekend getaways, breakfasts and lunches with her friends.  She especially enjoyed her many vacations at the beach.  In high school, Anne gained love for the theater and was an actress in many plays and musicals over the years.  She has been involved in Buck Creek Players Theater, Footlight Musicals, and performed for several years at Mystery Café in Indianapolis.  Anne was very kind to everyone and had a great sense of humor.

For many years, Anne recovered from many surgeries and illnesses.  She was always determined to recover so she could get back to living life to her fullest.  She adored her three grandsons Andrew, Chris, and Charlie.  She always looked forward to family gatherings and being able to watch them play sports.

Anne is survived by her daughter, Amy Rafalko (Mark); sister, Betsy Gross (Pete); brothers, Mike Palmer (longtime partner Cathy Orth), John Palmer of Kansas; grandsons, Andrew, Chris, and Charlie and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all of her doctors and staff at IU Health and and extend a heartfelt thank you to  St. Vincent Hospice, where she had exceptional and compassionate care.  A small celebration of life will be held at a later date.   Since childhood, Anne has had a soft spot in her heart for needy animals.  Memorial contributions may be made to any animal rescue shelter.  Friends may leave a message of condolence or sign the guest book at www.arnmortuary.com
