Andrew Hess

Andrew “Andy” Michael Hess, age 66, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital after an extended illness. He was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, the son of the late Michael S. and Barbara J. Hess. He was a 1976 graduate of Clay High School and a 1980 graduate of DePauw University. He attended graduate school at Drake University. 

Andy worked in Human Resources (in both the public and private sectors) and retired in 2023 from the Indiana Public Retirement System. He was a long-time resident of the Woodruff Place neighborhood on the near eastside of Indy. He loved old house restoration, woodworking, collecting antiques, and driving his vintage cars. He had been a member of the Studebaker Drivers Club since 1978. 

Surviving family members include his loving wife, Catherine A. Hess of Indianapolis; sister, Paula (Thomas) Sulentic of South Bend, Indiana; brother-in-law, Curtis E. Beason of Davenport, Iowa; five nephews; and one niece. 

His parents, one brother-in-law, and one nephew preceded him in death. 

A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Little Red Door or Compassus Hospice. Funeral services are being provided by ARN Funeral and Cremation Services.
