Allison Anne Hochman, 55, passed away on May 2nd in McCordsville, IN. She was born in Indianapolis on December 9, 1969, to Julie and Stephen Hochman.
Alli, from an early age, was cheery and positive, insightful and resilient.
While attending Eastwood Middle School, Alli was a home run leader and a highly accurate and powerful pinpoint softball pitcher. A graduate of North Central High School and Purdue University, Allison majored and excelled in marketing and business.
Alli was a people pleaser and a problem solver. A brilliant smile made employees who worked beside Allison remember her with affection. Alli's tough decisions, coupled with her hands-on help, earned their respect as well.
She travelled the country successfully sharing novel and productive ideas. Alli opened big box department stores in Washington D.C., Chicago, Michigan, and Long Island, managing Target outlets, one, with over 50 checkout stations. She was a managerial migrant par excellence.
Alli loved animals, rescuing those she could. Once at a country exhibition, she noticed, under a table, an old, rust-covered cage. Trapped inside was a light gray Flemish Giant. The cage was so small the rabbit couldn't turn around.
"What's your bunny's name?"
The owner, who brought the 6 lb. rabbit for his 60 lb. pet python's lunch, thought for a moment and replied, "How 'bout... Jack?"
For $3, Jack became Alli's faithful friend. Jack adored Allison and cuddled with her at every opportunity, sometime falling asleep in her arms.
Over the years, Alli harbored a newt, three cockatiels, and two playful and loyal West Highland Terriers. They all lived lengthy, healthy, and happy lives.
Those of us who loved Alli wished she could still be with us. However, God loved Allison more and wanted her to be with Him and her mother.
So, God elevated Allie's soul and left her body here. God, Julie, and Alli are now at peace.
Alli, you are gone way too soon; may your memory be a blessing.
Allison is survived by her father; and her sister, Claire (Christopher) Heffner.
Services will be held privately at a later date.
